I enjoyed your depiction ...I read your story, Wats. I enjoyed your depiction of the dream. Had a few thoughts, some insightful, some funny:

1. I think you dreamed about an old 1800s mining community. A lot of the elements seem to fit: train going through a cave and cut ravines into the mountainside. People covered in earth (like soot or coal). Mostly male workers. Small wooden church with a priest and a graveyard nearby. Sparse desert landscape.

2. Another option I see is that you dreamed about the building of a railroad through the mountains (such as when the Central Pacific dug, cut and blasted their way out of California through the Sierra Nevadas). The large white cylinder could represent 3 things: a modern drilling/boring machine to cut tunnels through the stone (an anachronism, but dreams do that sometimes), a large cargo of wrapped explosives like dynamite, or maybe a massive group of linen-wrapped dead bodies inside (representing this being a "Soul Train" ferrying their souls/bodies to the afterlife).

The elementals who were covered in earth might represent those who perished in mining accidents like cave-ins, and the ones who were part fire, part earth might be those who died in explosions (dynamite accidents). (The guys made of fire and smoke also bring to mind the djinn of arabic myth.)

3. Funny Note: Speaking of the elementals, the mysterious nature of the air-elementals intrigued me. I had the goofy notion thst since the water ones were people buried at sea (thrown off boats), that maybe the air ones were all the henchmen from action movies - you know the guys who are always being kicked out of airplanes and helicopters and off floating islands by the western-type protagonists? ;) (Maybe the other elementals don't mention them, because it's too silly for such a reverent place?)

4. But seriously, folks...

As someone who also experiences odd dreams of a spiritual nature, I wonder if the Lord might be telling you that there's some family history or temple work to be done for some of your ancestors? Maybe some of them were miners or workers on the California railroads?

Might be something to look into. :)Johnathan Reese Whitinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05271748150823074792noreply@blogger.com
